ASIAN Geographic is looking for special photographs from talented amateur and professional photographers who have captured a striking image of Asia's land, people, architecture or wildlife. One winner and runner-up will be selected from each category. An overall Grand Prize will be awarded to the best overall picture as judged by our panel of editors. The top photographs will be exhibited as part of an “Asia Without Borders” photography exhibit scheduled to be held in December, 2008.
CATEGORIES
The Land Evocative, colourful landscapes or seascapes that capture the unique, physical beauty across Asia.
Humanity Images that capture the diversity and colour of the people who call Asia home, whether an intimate portrait or a striking moment captured at a festival.
Wild Places Whether deep on a reef wall or deep in a rainforest, images of marine animals and wildlife that inhabit the gardens, forests and seas of Asia.
Man’s Imprint From Angkor Wat to Taipei 101, images that capture both ancient and modern architecture.
Each contestant may enter any or all of the FOUR (4) categories, but is limited to a maximum of ONE (1) image submission per category.

Please take note of the following:
Image Format
Entries must be saved in RGB jpeg format at a size of 14” (about 35cm) in the longest dimension (regardless of whether it is a portrait or landscape image) with at least 300dpi in resolution.
Save each category separately on a CD/DVD, making sure to write or label your name and email address on the disc itself (not the cover!).
Labelling Your Images
Name each jpg file according to the following template: Category_LastName_FirstName_Entry#.jpg
Example: The Land_Smith_John_01.jpg
Winning entries will also be published in the December Photo Annual Edition of ASIAN Geographic.ASIAN Geographic is looking for fresh photography that captures the many facets of Asia: past winners of any other photography contest will not be considered for this contest, and all submissions must be unpublished photographs.
My Thoughts : This contest takes a lot of effort but for photograph enthusiast or someone who wants to try something new it could be fun.
